Carrie has been creating photo-based artwork for over twenty years. She integrates her imagery into wearable art using recycled items and mixed media. Photographing graffiti in Berlin, Paris and Chicago and using details of her favorite paintings, she creates wearable art using bottle caps, dominoes, Scrabble tiles, glass tiles, maps and Kodachrome film. She loves creating art that people can wear and enjoy. She also creates usable art in the form of light switch plates.
She has exhibited her work throughout the U.S., with a focus on Chicago galleries, and in Rome, Berlin and Paris.
She recieved her Master of Fine Arts in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design. She recieved a Fulbright Award to study in Rome, grants from the Illinois Arts Council for bodies of work and grants from the city of Chicago to create artwork.
